Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Senior Botanist to join our Ecology & Biodiversity team in Perth on a permanent full-time basis. The role suits someone with 3-5 years of industry experience and strong fieldwork capability in floristic data collection and reports.

You will work across office and field-based activities, applying environmental legislation and delivering high-quality assessments with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in a botanical role in environmental consulting or government.
• Experience in flora and vegetation surveys, taxonomy and report production.
• Ability to implement flora surveys and monitoring programs.
• Advanced report writing and computer skills for publication.
• Experience in GIS, e.g. QGIS, and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in field surveys to collect floristic data.
• Interpret environmental legislation and apply it to projects.
• Prepare technical reports summarising field survey results and implications.
• Assist in preparing tenders and proposals.
• Integrate technical work into multidisciplinary teams.
• Undertake analyses and prepare findings from field surveys.
• Travel to remote areas to conduct field survey programs.
