Job summary

Acclime is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team and support high-quality bookkeeping and financial services for a diverse client base. This hands-on, client-facing role oversees day‑to‑day bookkeeping and supports junior and offshore team members.

The Senior Bookkeeper ensures client records are accurate and compliant, enabling senior accountants to prepare financial statements and tax returns efficiently, while contributing to process improvements and system knowledge

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a senior bookkeeping role.
• Relevant bookkeeping qualification (e.g. Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong experience using Xero and related apps.
• Solid understanding of Australian bookkeeping and payroll requirements, including BAS, STP, superannuation, payroll tax and WorkCover.
• BAS Agent registration or eligibility.
• Experience reviewing and supervising the work of other bookkeepers.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients across industries.
• Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll processing.
• Review work of junior and offshore team members.
• Prepare BAS/IAS, activity statements, and management reports.
• Ensure compliance with BAS/STP and superannuation requirements.
• Lodgement of compliance obligations on time.
