Job summary

Grampians Health in Victoria is seeking a Biomedical Technologist to support safe healthcare through maintenance of biomedical and electronic equipment across multiple campuses. The role involves testing, calibration, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, with travel and occasional overnight stays.

You will assist in maintaining stock, managing service records, and providing training to Grade 1 & 2 Biomedical Technologists, while participating in after-hours support and weekend work as

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electronics or trade qualifications (or equivalent) and/or relevant years’ experience.
• Strong knowledge of AS3760, AS2500, AS3003, AS3551 standards and electronics/IT systems.
• Ability to manage time-critical situations, work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Regular inspection, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic equipment across Grampians Health campuses, including travel and overnight stays.
• Perform acceptance testing and documentation of electronic equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain communication systems such as electronic paging, telephone, and overhead paging systems.
• Adhere to the Programmed Maintenance System, manage work orders, service records, spare parts and manuals.
• Assist in stock control of components, spares and loan equipment to minimize downtime.
• Participate in weekend work, after-hours callouts, and provide in-service training to staff.
