Job summary

TEKsystems, Inc. is seeking a Senior BI Developer (Power BI / Data & Analytics) to design, develop, and deliver scalable BI solutions in a large, enterprise environment.

You will build robust data models and high‑performing Power BI dashboards, collaborating with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to deliver reliable data pipelines. The role requires hands‑on expertise in Power BI, DAX, data modelling, SQL, ETL, and data integration, with responsibilities spanning BI governance, deployment,

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior BI Developer with Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Power BI, DAX, data modelling, and SQL is mandatory.
• Experience applying optimisation techniques to improve Power BI report performance.
• Experience configuring Power BI on-premises Report Server.
• Strong experience in detailed data analysis, ETL, data cleansing, and data migration.
• Experience working with very large and complex datasets.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security within Power BI environments.
• Experience managing Power BI deployment pipelines across Dev, Test, and Production.
• Extensive experience with version control tools including GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar.
• Strong communication skills across stakeholders and teams.
• Experience with Python, R, and cloud technologies is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust and scalable data models using industry best practices.
• Develop intuitive and high-performing Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Source and integrate data from multiple systems including SQL Server, Oracle, cloud platforms, and APIs.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to support reliable data pipelines.
• Design and implement data security models, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Manage Power BI environments and deployment pipelines across Dev, Test, and Production.
• Apply Git-based version control and CI/CD practices across BI assets.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering data models, data flows, and reporting solutions.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical solutions.
• Undertake detailed data analysis, ETL, data cleansing, and data migration involving large datasets.
• Apply optimisation techniques to improve Power BI report performance.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team capability uplift.
• Drive continuous improvement across BI practices and tooling.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior BI Developer (Power BI / Data & Analytics) to design, develop, and deliver scalable business intelligence solutions across a complex enterprise environment.

The role will be responsible for transforming data into meaningful analytics through robust data models, high-performing Power BI dashboards, and modern BI practices. You will work closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure analytical solutions.

The successful candidate will bring strong hands‑on experience across Power BI, DAX, data modelling, SQL, ETL, data integration, and performance optimisation, while also contributing to BI governance, deployment practices, documentation, mentoring, and continuous improvement.
