Enlighten is hiring exceptional Backend Developers to join our high-impact engineering team. We build and operate critical backend systems that manage trillions of records and service hundreds of thousands of queries per day across the DoD.

You will design, build, and scale core infrastructure with autonomy in a hybrid environment. You will tackle diverse challenges, from RESTful APIs to modifying open-source systems like Trino, and implementing identity federation with Keycloak.

Formación

• 9+ years of software engineering experience designing, developing, and deploying backend systems.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with Trino or similar distributed SQL engines.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerization.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid office in Columbia, MD.
• Security clearance desired; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex backend systems capable of handling massive data and high query loads.
• Own challenging technical projects from concept to production and ongoing iteration.
• Develop RESTful APIs and modify open-source software like Trino.
• Implement identity federation with Keycloak.
• Develop and operate large-scale data ingestion pipelines (Airflow).
• Improve deployment processes (CI/CD) with Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers in a low-process environment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues to ensure reliability and performance.
• Transport to the Columbia, MD office 1–2 days per week as needed.
