Job summary

Australian Government is seeking 2 Senior Azure Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineers to design, build, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure supporting Data & Analytics workloads. You will use IaC, Terraform and DevOps practices to deliver scalable cloud services across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

The roles require experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Web Apps, Logic Apps, and strong security, IAM and networking skills.

Qualifications

• Senior Azure Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineer with ability to obtain NV1 clearance.
• Experience designing and implementing Azure cloud infrastructure across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Azure cloud infrastructure and services across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
• Build and manage Azure Data & Analytics platforms including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Web Apps and Logic Apps.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Implement and support Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure and manage Azure Networking, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Azure Policy and security controls.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver infrastructure supporting Advanced Analytics and AI solutions.
• Support administration and delivery of Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or other analytical platforms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using Agile methodologies.
• Strong experience designing, building and maintaining cloud-hosted platforms and services.
• Proven experience implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure using Terraform/IaC.
• Strong understanding of Azure security, IAM, networking and policy.
• Experience delivering infrastructure for Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Storage or Data Science projects.
• Experience working within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Experience working with Data Lake technologies.
• Experience with Geospatial platforms.
• Exposure to MLOps and LLMOps.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Databricks administration.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in the Canberra CBD office

Contract: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extension options

Level: Senior / EL1 equivalent

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain NV1

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking 2 Senior Azure Cloud Platform Infrastructure Engineers to join the Enterprise Analytics and Technology Services (EATS) section within the Department

The successful candidates will design, build, implement and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure supporting Data & Analytics workloads, using modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement Azure cloud infrastructure and services across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.


• Build and manage Azure Data & Analytics platforms including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Web Apps and Logic Apps.


• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
