Job summary

DDP Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Platform Engineer to support a major Australian Government department. The successful candidate will join an established team responsible for maintaining and enhancing a critical AWS cloud environment supporting enterprise identity and access management services.

The role involves managing AWS cloud infrastructure, administering EKS and Kubernetes, and developing infrastructure automation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in AWS cloud infrastructure engineering and operational support.
• Strong experience administering Amazon EKS and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Sound understanding of AWS security architecture and vulnerability management.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps and automated deployments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting business-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability and availability.
• Administer Amazon EKS and Kubernetes environments, including upgrades, patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Develop infrastructure automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor and optimise cloud performance, capacity and infrastructure costs.
• Maintain monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch and Dynatrace.
• Implement AWS security controls, including IAM, IRSA, RBAC, WAF and secrets management.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Argo CD.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, undertake root cause analysis and implement improvements.
