Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Senior Software Test & Automation Engineer to design and develop automated test infrastructure, verify software, and build tooling for continuous validation across the development lifecycle.

You will work with autonomy software, systems engineering, flight test, and integration teams to validate capabilities, ensure repeatability, and readiness for deployment. Strong Python and CI/CD experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years developing software test, verification, automation, or validation solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation, testing, and data analysis.
• Experience with Linux-based development environments.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous validation practices.
• Experience validating software in simulation, SIL, HIL, and/or representative hardware environments.
• Strong debugging of complex software and system integration issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and infrastructure supporting autonomy software.
• Develop verification and validation strategies across simulation, SIL, HIL, VIL environments.
• Build automated regression, integration, functional, and performance test suites.
• Develop Python-based automation, test harnesses, and analysis tools.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and support cross-functional investigations.
• Develop software quality metrics, dashboards, and readiness assessments.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows for continuous validation.
• Collaborate with teams to define validation strategies and readiness criteria.
• Improve test infrastructure and validation methodologies.
