The Opportunity

Our Band 1 ranked Competition Regulation and Trade is expanding and we have an opportunity for a Senior Associate or Executive Counsel to join our Melbourne office.

Our team is widely recognised by peers and legal directories as one of the leading teams in the field. We advise many of Australias and the worlds leading organisations across the full spectrum of competition consumer law and regulatory work including cartel and behavioural investigations litigation merger clearances and regulatory advice.

Our clients operate in a wide range of industry sectors including telecommunications tech energy and natural resources financial institutions infrastructure transport manufacturing and industrials and retail.

Under the leadership of Partners Linda Evans Liza Carver Patrick Gay Sarah Benbow Patrick Clark Stephanie Panayi and Jared Peut our competition practice works as both a close national and global team which will provide career opportunities you simply cannot get elsewhere.

Key Qualifications
  • Experience as a Senior Associate in a leading private practice firm or relevant regulator experience in Australia.
  • In-depth experience in competition and / or consumer and regulatory law ideally in both advisory and contentious work.
  • An excellent academic record and natural commitment to continuous learning.
  • Strong communication skills and an enjoyment for developing junior Lawyers.
  • An ability to work to tight timeframes collaboratively and at times autonomously.
  • A curiosity about our clients businesses and an ability to build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to support the ongoing growth of the practice.
