Job summary

Wolf & Williams, a leading Australian law firm, seeks a Senior Associate to join its growing Digital, Technology and Commercial practice in Sydney. The role blends advisory and transactional work, with significant client exposure and mentoring of junior lawyers.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years' post-qualification experience in technology or corporate law and experience advising on technology transactions, IP, privacy and data protection.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PAE in commercial, technology or corporate practice.
• Experience advising on technology transactions, intellectual property, privacy, data protection or commercial contracting.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills; practical, commercially astute advice.
• Proven ability to build client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Experience mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to a positive team culture.
• Genuine interest in technology and the evolving digital economy landscape.
• Excellent communication skills and autonomy in handling matters.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join a growing specialist team advising clients across technology, intellectual property, privacy, cyber risk and complex commercial transactions. This role offers a blend of advisory and transactional work, significant client exposure and the opportunity to mentor junior lawyers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising clients on major technology transactions, digital transformation projects and complex sourcing arrangements
• Supporting organisations with intellectual property exploitation, data governance, privacy compliance and cyber incident response matters
• Assisting clients through procurement processes, commercial negotiations and strategic contracting initiatives
• Preparing and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements across technology, telecommunications and digital services sectors
• Building trusted relationships with corporate and government stakeholders while delivering commercially focused legal solutions
• Working closely with senior practitioners on innovative and market-leading matters across the digital economy landscape; and
• Providing guidance, mentoring and technical support to junior lawyers as part of a collaborative team environment.

The successful candidate will have:

• 5+ years' PAEgained within a leading commercial, technology or corporate practice.
• Experience advising on technology transactions, intellectual property, privacy, data protection or commercial contracting matters.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to provide practical and commercially astute advice.
• A demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
• Experience mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to a positive team culture.
