Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate in our Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in Sydney. You will support engagements that identify EBITDA opportunities, build robust financial models, and drive value creation across industries with hands-on execution.

3-7 years in finance-related roles, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team are essential. Travel may be required as part of client engagements.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years in corporate finance, corporate restructuring or management consulting with a financial or accounting focus.
• Ability to develop and maintain financial models (3-statement, 13-week forecasts, EBITDA opportunities).
• Strong modeling, data analysis and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality analytical models (3-statement, 13-week forecasts, EBITDA opportunities) with guidance from seniors.
• Validate data and assumptions, reconcile models and reports.
• Think critically and apply rules for accurate analyses across engagements.
• Quality-check work, ensuring it addresses questions and flows logically.
• Communicate progress and roadblocks to seniors, and propose solutions.
• Develop presentation materials with coaching from seniors.
• Support client information validation and readiness for questions.
• Assist in proposal development with company and industry research.
