Job summary

Perth-based TBB Planning is seeking an experienced town planner at Senior Associate level to lead complex statutory and strategic projects from our Perth office. You will build trusted client relationships, guide multidisciplinary teams and shape project direction while driving growth for the practice.

You’ll lead engagements with clients and agencies, mentor team members, and manage scope, budgets and delivery timelines, applying practical and innovative approaches including AI-enabled tools to

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
• Strong knowledge of the WA planning system, approval pathways and policy frameworks.
• Demonstrated success leading complex planning projects.
• Confidence managing senior client, consultant and agency relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness across scope, budgets and resourcing.
• Genuine interest in mentoring others and building team capability.
• Willingness to adopt smart working practices and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex statutory, strategic and place-based planning projects.
• Provide technical direction across reports, submissions, and planning frameworks.
• Build trusted client relationships with agencies and collaborators.
• Lead tenders, proposals, and client presentations.
• Guide stakeholder and community engagement processes.
• Coach team members through high-quality project delivery.
• Manage scope, budget, resourcing and commercial risks.
• Champion improvements, including AI-enabled tools to improve quality and efficiency.
• Contribute to TBB’s specialisms, systems and knowledge sharing.
