Job summary

Clayton Utz is seeking a Senior Associate for its Energy & Resources team in Melbourne. You will advise on complex regulatory and commercial matters tied to the renewable energy transformation, working with a senior partner and mentoring junior lawyers.

You will handle energy sector projects across retail, distribution, transmission and generation, draft PPAs and other energy agreements, and support a diverse client base including regulators and ASX-listed companies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years post-qualification experience in energy sector.
• Experience in electricity and gas markets, in-house or private practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to build client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Mentor junior lawyers and manage matters from start to finish.
• Draft and negotiate PPAs, supply agreements, connection agreements and BESS offtake agreements.
• Work with a diverse client base across Australia, including regulators and ASX-listed entities.
