Qualifications

• 5+ years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation, debt recovery and insolvency.
• Admission to practice in Australia and a current Practising Certificate.
• Experience managing complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.
• Experience in insolvency and restructuring matters.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Excellent drafting and technical legal abilities.
• Proven experience building and maintaining client relationships.
• Experience mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team development.
• A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to legal problem-solving.
• Strong organisational and matter management skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial litigation matters from commencement through to resolution.
• Advising clients on dispute resolution strategies, commercial risk and litigation outcomes.
• Conducting debt recovery and enforcement proceedings across various jurisdictions.
• Acting for liquidators, trustees, administrators and receivers in insolvency-related matters.
• Preparing and prosecuting statutory demands, winding up applications and bankruptcy proceedings.
• Advising on enforcement strategies, securities enforcement and recovery actions.
• Drafting pleadings, affidavits, applications, submissions and technical legal correspondence.
• Appearing at mediations, settlement conferences and court hearings.
• Briefing and instructing Counsel and expert witnesses.
• Negotiating commercial settlements and delivering practical outcomes for clients.
