Job summary

The Department of Health in Victoria is seeking a Senior Program Officer, AOD Treatment Programs, to lead complex program delivery, commissioning and performance activities that support the effectiveness and sustainability of Victoria's alcohol and other drug treatment system.

The role provides expert advice on program implementation, funding, and contracts, and works with funded organisations and government stakeholders to drive reforms and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in fields related to public policy, health administration or business management is required.
• Sound understanding of the Victorian AOD system and information systems desirable.
• People with lived and living experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex program and commissioning activities for Victoria's AOD treatment system.
• Provide expert advice on program implementation, service performance, funding and contracting matters.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, service providers, peak bodies and partner agencies.
• Contribute to design and implementation of reforms and drive continuous improvement to ensure accessible, responsive services.
• Prepare high-quality briefs, reports and presentations for senior executives and government.
• Manage discrete work packages within broader projects, including planning, monitoring and reporting.
• Undertake data analysis, literature reviews and environmental scans to inform policy development and program design.
