Job summary

Biosecurity Queensland seeks a Biosecurity Officer (Animal Biosecurity & Welfare Operations) to join a high performing team. You will deliver operational activities to protect animal biosecurity and welfare across Queensland, providing accurate advice and workable solutions to ABW management.

This role requires you to investigate breaches, including cattle tick incidents, and to work with stakeholders to prevent, respond to and recover from biosecurity events, contributing to the State's

Qualifications

• Current C class driver's license.
• Vaccination for Q Fever or willingness to be vaccinated.
• Ability to handle livestock and operate a 4WD. Field experience with livestock and disease investigations is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational services that protect and enhance animal biosecurity and welfare.
• Investigate cattle tick breaches under the Biosecurity Act 2014.
• Provide accurate advice and workable solutions to ABW management on biosecurity risks.
• Contribute to administration and compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures and systems.
• Work as part of a high-performing team.
