Job summary

Macquarie Group in Sydney is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst for Risk Advisory within Banking and Financial Services. You will partner across the ecosystem to advise on Operational Risk, lead risk initiatives and support control documentation and risk ratings.

The role requires experience in risk management practices, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to drive governance improvements across product lines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in Financial Services, Banking or Professional Services.
• Strong knowledge of core risk management practices and frameworks.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically and solve problems.
• Experience building and influencing stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Partner with our ecosystem to provide Operational Risk advice and drive initiatives such as Risk Control Self-Assessments.
• Act as risk lead on projects (e.g. Data Under Governance, CPS230) and the risk approval process.
• Support general Risk and Control Management including uplift on new controls, assess risk ratings, and review risk performance.

As an Analyst/Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for partnering with our ecosystem to provide Operational Risk advice and drive initiatives such as Risk Control Self-Assessments, acting as risk lead on projects (e.g. Data Under Governance, CPS230) and the risk approval process.

In addition, you will be responsible for general Risk and Control Management including uplifts on new control creation and documentation, assessing risk ratings, advising on risk acceptances and reviewing and monitoring risk performance. You will be working closely with stakeholders of all levels, across various teams and product lines in Banking and Financial Services.

• Ideally 3+ years’ experience in Financial Services, Banking or Professional Services
• Sound knowledge and understanding of core risk management practices and frameworks and strong risk mindset
• A detailed orientated mindset alongside the ability to strategically problem solve
