Job summary

UniSuper in Melbourne is seeking an experienced investment accountant to deliver end-to-end accounting and financial reporting for the Fund and its related entities. You will analyse complex valuation matters, resolve exceptions and support strategic finance initiatives.

You will work with external partners and custody providers, ensure accurate month- and quarter-end close, and contribute to automation and process improvements while maintaining strong governance and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end investment accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, unit pricing, controls and reconciliation principles.
• Experience working with outsourced providers to deliver service standards.
• Analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Exposure to superannuation, fund management or custody.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end investment accounting and financial reporting for the Fund and related entities.
• Analyse complex journals, valuations, distributions, performance fee accruals, FX and derivatives accounting.
• Deliver investment accounting across asset classes and support reporting for SPVs.
• Analyse custodian-produced NAVs, trial balances and valuation feeds; resolve exceptions promptly.
• Support external and internal audits and remediation of findings.
• Improve accuracy and timeliness by contributing to automation and process improvements.

About you

You bring strong investment accounting expertise and enjoy solving complex problems with care and sound judgement. You work methodically, balance priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes while building trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• CA or CPA qualification
• Experience in superannuation, fund management or custody
• Strong knowledge of accounting, unit pricing, controls and reconciliation principles
• Experience working with outsourced providers to deliver agreed service standards
• Strong analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence stakeholders
