Job summary

Virgin Australia is seeking a Senior Production Planner to support the Technical Operations and Aircraft Maintenance Strategy. You will lead a team of Production Planners handling line maintenance planning, liaising with airline planning, fleet technical and supply teams to ensure smooth transition to MRO delivery.

You will collaborate with maintenance teams, operators and contractors while upholding safety and regulatory standards, and drive continuous improvement in planning and delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in aviation or similar field in Production Planning and/or Maintenance Planning.
• Understanding of CASA rule parts 42 & 145.
• Demonstrated ability in high service delivery and understanding of SLA and service principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Supervision of staff and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage short notice changes to planned workloads.
• Demonstrated safety and quality management skills.
• Experience using the Microsoft Office suite (intermediate).
• Experience using TRAX and My Boeing Fleet.
• Design of maintenance processes for safe, efficient operations.
• Ability to create job instruction cards per OEM/industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the planning and development of hangar and gate maintenance to ensure optimal efficiency within SLA.
• Providing supervision of Production Planners to ensure tasks are carried out to standards and timelines.
• Coordinating resources and facilities to ensure work packages are achievable, protecting OTP.
• Reviewing quotation packs from stakeholders as required.
• Leading the team through effective communication and coaching plans.
• Identify and implement improvement strategies within the planning and delivery of maintenance.
