Job summary

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Limited in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Analyst in our Financial Crime Data Analytics & AI team to design and implement data-driven solutions that detect and prevent financial crime, turning data into intelligence.

You will work across Analytics, AI, and governance, shaping innovative detection strategies, partner with technology and operations, and help maintain robust, well-governed analytics frameworks in a regulated banking environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data analytics, advanced analytics, and detection scenario development.
• Excellent programming and database skills, with strong SQL.
• Ability to translate complex data and technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
• Curious, enquiring mind with proven problem-solving and time management skills.
• Degree in a relevant STEM field or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience in a regulated industry like banking/finance.
• Experience with GCP, R, or data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with financial crime systems (NICE Actimize, NetReveal, SAS).
• Post-graduate studies or certifications in Data, Data Science, or Risk.

Responsibilities

• Detection Enhancement: Analyse data to develop and improve detection of financial crime threats and typologies.
• Analytics & Innovation: Use AI to enhance detection, data mining to identify trends, and provide proactive insights.
• Governance: Develop and maintain governance frameworks for analytics and detection rules.
• Project Support: Lead discovery and estimations for analytics implementations related to new products and systems.
