Qualifications

  • Knowledge of contemporary correctional practices.
  • Understanding of Queensland Corrective Services at a strategic and political level.
  • Experience in preparing high quality reports, briefings, policy papers and submissions.
  • Exposure to operating in an executive environment.
  • Experience in undertaking research and application of outcomes to better practice.
  • Relationship management.
  • Demonstrated workplace and emotional resilience.
  • Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to motivate and encourage self and others to meet the challenges of demanding work roles.
  • Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with sensitive or classified information.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate prison capacity and transfer processes.
  • Case manage prisoners difficult to place across the state.
  • Coordinate demand for prisoner beds and intake from watch houses.
  • Lead interstate and international transfers and specialised transfer and escort processes.
  • Manage prisoner escorts for Mental Health custody and assess transfer applications per legislation.
