Job summary

The Shire of East Pilbara in Newman, WA is seeking a Senior Activation and Events Officer to lead end-to-end planning, production and delivery of major community events. You will oversee AV systems, manage contractors and procurement, and ensure governance and compliance across projects.

Applicants should have a relevant tertiary qualification or strong equivalent experience, plus leadership capabilities to mentor staff and manage budgets within a dynamic local government environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary/TAFE qualification or significant equivalent experience in event management.
• Substantial demonstrated experience leading end-to-end planning, production and delivery of complex and large-scale community events.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in event production and audiovisual systems (audio, staging, screens and related technologies).
• Experience managing contractors and event-related procurement, including infrastructure or capital projects.
• Experience authoring event governance documentation (Risk Management Plans, Event Management Plans) and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
