Optio6 Talent Partners is partnering with a leading advisory firm in Brisbane to recruit a Senior Accountant for its Business Advisory team. Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Australian public practice or professional accounting services.
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business (or related discipline).
• CA qualification completed or currently completing.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, taxation and compliance.
• Working knowledge of Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or Reckon.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and related entities.
• Prepare income tax returns, BAS and IAS.
• Assist with tax planning and compliance matters.
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted point of contact.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional business advisory support.
• Collaborate with Partners, Managers and colleagues to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
• Contribute to a positive team environment while expanding technical and commercial expertise.

The opportunity As a Senior Accountant within the Business Advisory team, you'll work with a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, taxation and business advisory services. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, build trusted client relationships and provide practical advice that helps businesses make informed decisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships and associated entities.
• Preparing income tax returns, BAS and IAS.
• Assisting with tax planning and compliance matters.
• Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional business advisory support.
• Working collaboratively with Partners, Managers and colleagues to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
• Contributing to a positive team environment while continuing to develop your technical and commercial expertise.

What will help you succeed? We're interested in speaking with accountants who enjoy what they do, take pride in their work and genuinely value the relationships they build with clients and colleagues. So if you are not ticking all the boxes, we still want to hear from you as training and support is available.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• A minimum of 3 years' experience within an Australian public practice or professional accounting services firm, with the technical capability to operate at a senior level.
• A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
• Completed CA qualification or equivalent or currently completing
• Strong experience in financial reporting, taxation and compliance.
• Working knowledge of accounting platforms such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or Reckon.
• Strong communication skills and confidence engaging directly with clients.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• A collaborative attitude, professional integrity and a genuine interest in continuing to learn and grow.

Experience with Xero Financials and Tax software will be highly regarded, although not essential.
