Job summary

Hart Recruitment in Perth is seeking a Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager to lead a client-facing Business Services portfolio within a boutique firm. You will oversee compliance and advisory work, mentor junior staff, and progress toward Manager level, with flexible 1-2 days WFH and a supportive partner group.

Reporting to Managers and Partners, you will manage a diverse client portfolio across industries, ensuring quality service and timely advice.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion.
• 4-5+ years' experience in Australian public practice.
• Strong technical knowledge across tax, accounting standards, and compliance.
• Experience reviewing the work of junior team members is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
• A proactive, career-driven mindset with genuine interest in progressing toward Manager level.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals
• Management of a client portfolio, acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day queries
• Preparation of BAS/IAS, FBT returns, and other compliance lodgements
• Involvement in tax planning, structuring, and advisory work for SME clients
• Reviewing the work of junior and intermediate accountants, providing mentorship and technical guidance
• Liaising directly with clients and building long-term relationships
• Assisting Managers and Partners with ad hoc advisory projects
