Job summary

Modaxo, a growing transit technology company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to own IFRS close processes, revenue recognition, and project accounting. You will work with NetSuite, BlackLine, and Excel to manage intercompany, inventory, and fixed assets while supporting audits and month-end reporting.

The role requires 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting, and IFRS proficiency; CPA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA designation desired, or working towards it.
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
• Knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 16.
• Experience with NetSuite (SuiteProjects or ARM) and familiarity with BlackLine.
• Experience using AI tools to automate or speed up close processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and analysis for project accounting, inventory, fixed assets and intercompany.
• Prepare project revenue recognition under IFRS 15, including WIP and contract balances.
• Maintain project accounting for multi-year implementations and reconcile assets/liabilities.
• Manage hardware and spares inventory and cycle counts.
• Prepare intercompany postings and reconciliations; assist with US tax filings (1099) where applicable.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and PBC schedules for audits and reviews.
• Produce detailed financial, project margin, and accounting reports.

You should prioritize quality and be comfortable setting up processes as well as running them. As a key member of our finance team, you will play an active role in the monthly close including revenue recognition, project accounting and inventory, all under IFRS in NetSuite.
