Job summary

Power Tynan in Toowoomba is recruiting a Senior Accountant to join our award-winning team. You will attend client meetings, gather information, and advise on tax and financial improvements across diverse entities.

You will prepare budgets, cashflow forecasts and dashboards, identify advisory opportunities, and ensure accurate financial statements and tax returns while improving client financial positions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of post-degree experience within the professional services industry.
• CPA or CA qualified or currently working towards one of them.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new software (experience using Xero, MYOB and Reckon would be an advantage).
• High level knowledge and understanding of Taxation Legislation.
• Exceptional time management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in client meetings.
• Gather information from clients, resolve tax issues and recommend improvements.
• Understand client operations, processes and business objectives.
• Prepare budgets, cashflow forecasts, dashboards and business plans.
• Identify advisory opportunities in existing and potential clients.
• Research and apply complex tax and other legislation.
• Prepare financial statements and tax returns across entity types.
• Focus on improving client financial position via tax minimisation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to attend and participate in client meetings
• Proactively interact with client management to gather information, resolve tax-related problems, and make recommendations for improvements
• Gain understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives.
• Assistance in preparation of, but not limited to, budgets, cashflow forecasts, dashboard analytics, due diligence report, business plans and one-page plans.
• Ability to identify advisory opportunities in existing and potential clients
• Ability to research and apply more complex tax and other legislation
• Completion of intermediate to complex Financial Statements and Tax Returns across all entity types
• A real focus on improving client financial position, structures, and tax minimization strategies.
