Ace Business is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our close-knit team in Adelaide. You will deliver tax, compliance and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of SME and individual clients, working directly with clients to provide strategic advice.

We value a proactive, solutions-focused approach and strong communication skills. You'll use Xero, Xero Tax and Excel, and contribute to the growth of the firm's client base while developing team members.

Qualifications

• Experience in Australian Public Practice accounting is required.
• 2–10 years' experience in a Senior Accountant role.
• Strong taxation and business advisory knowledge.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns for diverse entities.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tax, compliance and business advisory services for SME and individual clients.
• Identify opportunities to add value and support client growth.
• Prepare and review financial statements and income tax returns for clients including individuals, trusts, partnerships, and companies.
• Prepare comprehensive working papers per standard procedures.
• Engage with clients to build strong working relationships.
• Complete engagements within budget and timeframes to a high standard.
• Stay up-to-date with tax laws and research taxation issues.
• Collaborate with team members to develop junior staff.

About the role

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering tax, compliance and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of SME and individual clients. You will work closely with clients, identify opportunities to add value, and support the development of team members.

What you'll be doing

• Tax structuring, small business concessions, superannuation, GST, CGT and FBT advice, jurisdictional tax matters
• Current knowledge and experience of various entity structures and the tax implications of each
• Ability to prepare and review a range of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including individuals, trusts, partnerships, companies
• Prepare comprehensive working papers consistent with standard operating procedures
• Review business activity statements completed by other team members
• Research and resolve various taxation issues associated with client work
• Understand income tax and experience developing multiple scenarios for tax planning purposes
• Contribution to the growth of the firm's client base
• Completing engagements within budget and time frames to a high standard
• Engage with clients and build strong working relationships

What we're looking for

• Australian Public Practice accounting experience

• Strong technical taxation and business advisory knowledge
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns across various entity structures
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong time management and organisational abilities
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Experience using Xero, Xero Tax, Microsoft Excel and cloud accounting solutions
• CA, CPA or IPA membership (or working towards) will be highly regarded but is not essential
