Qualifications

• Full CA or CPA qualification with Australian membership.
• Significant Australian public practice experience (Business Services or Taxation).
• Strong technical capability across Australian taxation, compliance, and financial reporting for diverse clients.
• Experience reviewing complex work, managing team workflow, and maintaining quality standards.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor staff to perform at their best.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong commercial judgement.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and coach Accountants and Senior Accountants to build capability and growth.
• Workflow & Quality Control: Oversee daily team workflow, conduct technical reviews of financial statements and tax returns, ensure high-quality standards.
• Portfolio Management & Advisory: Manage a diverse portfolio, providing tax planning, structuring, and strategic advice.
• Partner Collaboration: Work with firm leadership on complex client matters and growth initiatives.
• Relationship Building: Act as trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and identify opportunities to strengthen portfolios.

This role offers a direct pathway into leadership for experienced professionals looking to take ownership of quality client portfolios, lead and develop teams, and work alongside Partners on strategic business matters. Candidates currently in public practice, as well as those who have gained commercial experience after a public practice background and are looking to return, are warmly invited to apply.

What we are looking for

• Full CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent professional body membership).
• Significant Australian public practice experience (Business Services or Taxation), ideally operating at Senior Accountant, Assistant Manager, or Business Manager level.
• Strong technical capability across Australian taxation, compliance, and financial reporting for high-net-worth individuals, family groups, companies, and trusts.
• Demonstrated background in reviewing complex work, managing team workflow, and maintaining quality standards.
• Proven capacity for leading, coaching, and mentoring staff to help them perform at their best.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong commercial judgement and attention to detail.
• Proactive Ownership: You take complete responsibility for your work. When challenges arise, you find practical solutions and drive them through to completion.

• Portfolio Management & Advisory: Manage and nurture a diverse portfolio of business and private clients, providing tax planning, structuring, and strategic business advice.
• Partner Collaboration: Partner directly with firm leadership on complex client matters, operational improvements, and strategic practice growth.
• Relationship Building: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders while identifying opportunities to strengthen existing client portfolios.
