Job summary

BDO, a leading global professional services firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Business Services team in Adelaide. You will work with a diverse client portfolio, delivering financial statements, tax compliance, and advisory services while mentoring junior staff.

You will collaborate with Managers and Partners to provide practical solutions, build strong client relationships, and contribute to growth initiatives across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional services or public practice environment.
• Progress towards, or completion of, CA or CPA qualifications.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and financial reporting obligations across a range of industries.
• Prepare income tax returns and related compliance work for companies, trusts and high-net-worth individuals.
• Assist with tax planning initiatives and provide advice on business operations, tax matters and regulatory obligations.
• Deliver business and tax advisory services, including business structuring, performance improvement and growth initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with Managers and Partners to provide practical solutions to client challenges.
• Support, coach and mentor junior team members to assist with their professional development

• Growth and business advisory

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Business Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and advisory capabilities while working closely with clients and experienced leaders in a collaborative and high-performing environment. In this role, you will:

• Prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements and financial reporting obligations across a range of industries
• Prepare income tax returns and related compliance work for companies, trusts and high-net-worth individuals
• Assist with tax planning initiatives and provide advice on business operations, tax matters and regulatory obligations

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience within a professional services or public practice environment
• A genuine interest in business advisory and taxation services
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish credibility with clients and colleagues
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Progress towards, or completion of, CA or CPA qualifications
• Experience using APS and/or Xero (desirable)
