Job summary

Department of Communities is seeking a leader to drive Priority Initiatives for Aboriginal children and families in Western Australia. You will work with senior leaders and key stakeholders to deliver culturally responsive services and influence government objectives.

The role involves developing and evaluating policies, programs, and initiatives, providing strategic advice, and fostering partnerships with Aboriginal community organisations to improve outcomes and accountability across services.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and initiatives relating to Aboriginal children and families, undertaking complex research and providing strategic advice that supports the Department's priorities and Government objectives.
• Provide expert, solution-focused advice to District and Executive leadership on Aboriginal service delivery, ensuring services are responsive to the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal children, families and communities.
• Develop and deliver cultural learning and capability-building strategies, including mentoring, coaching, training and fostering strong partnerships with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and local Aboriginal communities.
• Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of quality assurance and monitoring frameworks that enhance service quality, accountability and outcomes for Aboriginal children and their families.
