Beca Pty. Ltd. is seeking a Senior 12D Designer based in Brisbane to design civil infrastructure, including roads, rail, storms and drainage.

You will deliver geometric designs, prepare documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a range of projects across the Asia Pacific. Qualifications

• Experience as a 12D Designer in civil market sectors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian standards for earthworks, roadworks and drainage.
• Ability to deliver projects from inception through to completion, collaboratively.
• Strong communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

Our National Civil team specialises in the design of roads, rail, bridges, stormwater, and general civil engineering projects. This is a skilled, high performing team that works on a wide variety of projects in the (roads and airports), Power, Water and Industrial, and provides civil expertise around stormwater drainage, earthworks and road/pavement design.

The opportunity On the back of recent project wins and a strong pipeline of work, our established civil team is expanding and looking for a Senior 12D Designer with general civil experience to join our team.

In this role no two days are the same and you’ll:

• Prepare geometric designs and deliverables for renewable energy, industrial, resources, transport & civil infrastructure projects
• Assist in the preparation of documentation with work completed accurately and to target standards
• Provide quality service to internal and external clients escalating client enquiries or issues as appropriate
• Communicate positively and effectively ensuring that team members, Managers and customers are consistently well informed about progress and timelines
• Consolidate and extend technical skills and show initiative in seeking learning opportunities
• Be a team contributor with opportunities to be lead civil designer on a variety of projects

About you

You will have experience as a 12D Designer within our key market sectors. This experience will mean you have developed:

• Confidence in your design abilities and a willingness to learn
• Capability to deliver projects from inception through to completion, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary design consultancy environment
• Design knowledge of relevant Australian standards and practices for earthworks, roadworks and drainage
• Experience of being in a team delivering services to internal and external customers and clients
• An understanding of engineering principles is a must
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation - Navisworks is beneficial but not essential
• Outstanding communication skills and the flexibility to work across a broad range of technically complex projects
• Completed or enrolled in an engineering associate qualification level or above
• A desire to learn new things
• A desire and ability to train team members in 12d design and civil design generally
• Flexibility, proactivity and an understanding of the importance of teamwork in a consultancy setting are essential attributes in this role
• In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills, well developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to display initiative
