Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior 12D Design Engineer to deliver civil infrastructure designs across Australia, with a focus on road alignment and earthworks using 12D Model. The role collaborates with engineers, designers and stakeholders to provide practical, cost-effective solutions across multiple civil disciplines.

Flexible location across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane or Perth, with work from Acciona offices.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience with 12D Model, including macro programming, snippet creation, and chains.
• Proven experience delivering 12D civil designs, especially road alignment, in a design consultancy.
• Solid understanding of road design principles.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Experience with alternative design platforms (e.g. OpenRoads) will be considered for the right candidate.

• Produce design models and documentation using the latest versions of 12D Model and AutoCAD.
• Develop innovative and efficient design modelling solutions, keeping pace with emerging industry technologies.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver practical, cost-effective engineering outcomes.
• Collaborate with other designers to develop, maintain, and improve design and modelling standards.
• Identify and forecast risks, opportunities, and scope variances within assigned works.
• Prepare design inputs for estimating activities, including quantities and take-offs as required.

The Opportunity

Due to continued strong growth and the award of several new projects supporting critical infrastructure across Australia we are seeking a Senior 12D Design Engineer with strong road alignment experience to join our team.

As a 12D Design Engineer, you will play a key role within our engineering team, delivering high-quality designs using 12D Model software. Working collaboratively with Engineers and fellow designers, you will produce detailed designs across a range of civil disciplines, including earthworks, roads, drainage and stormwater, sewer, and water infrastructure.

This role offers flexibility of location and may be based in Acciona offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, or Perth.

Key Accountabilities

• Produce design models and documentation using the latest versions of 12D Model and AutoCAD

• Develop innovative and efficient design modelling solutions, keeping pace with emerging industry technologies

• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver practical, cost-effective engineering outcomes

• Collaborate with other designers to develop, maintain, and improve design and modelling standards

Required Skills and Competencies

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or an equivalent discipline

• Strong proficiency in 12D Model, with experience in areas such as macro programming, snippet creation, and chains highly regarded

• Proven experience delivering 12D civil designs, particularly road alignment, within a design consultancy environment

• Solid understanding of road design principles and alignment methodologies

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels

• Experience with alternative design platforms (e.g. OpenRoads) will also be considered for the right candidate.
