Job summary

Lumia Care in Bowral is seeking a compassionate, reliable Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred care for a female participant living in a family home. The role includes weekday and weekend shifts, with paid sleepover duties and private accommodation.

You will assist with personal care, daily living tasks, mobility support, and community access, using a mental health–informed approach, working closely with the participant’s family to ensure safe, respectful, and consistent care.

Qualifications

• Experience with Brain Injury or similar complex needs.
• Mental health experience.
• Ability to perform manual handling safely.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Certificate in Aged Care or Disability is highly preferred.

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred care for a female participant living with Disability. This role is based in a welcoming family home and offers a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, including active sleepovers.

About the Role

You will be supporting a participant who resides with his family in a family home. The participant has chosen to remain living in her own home and requires.

Service Days & Hours

Weekdays

• Day shifts
• Evening shifts
• Saturday
• Sunday
• Assisting with personal care and daily living tasks
• Providing self-assistance support
• Manual handling and mobility assistance
• Supporting community access and social participation
• Delivering consistent and respectful care with a mental health–informed approach
• Working collaboratively with family members within the home
• Previous experience supporting clients with Brain Injury or similar complex needs (highly regarded)
• Mental health experience
• Ability to perform manual handling safely
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable approach to care
