AWS DC Security is looking for a Security Program Manager (SPM) to join our team. This is a partially hands‑on role responsible for physical security hardware across data centers and support facilities in the Melbourne region — from design and installation through to maintenance and compliance.
You will be an individual contributor on a team of three SPMs, working directly with Data Center Security Managers (DCSMs), Data Center Operations teams, and internal and external stakeholders.
You will oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of physical security systems including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, CCTV, and Passive and Active Barriers. This covers new data centers, expansions, support facilities, and special security programs — all consistent with AWS security standards.
You will work with limited guidance. You will lead projects, develop solutions, author security design documentation and contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure industry‑leading systems are deployed and maintained.
You have a deep understanding of electronic and physical security systems. You use that expertise to make the right decisions for security projects and site sustainment. You tackle complex security problems and compliance requirements — clearing blockers and escalating when needed.
You are comfortable identifying risks, asking the right questions to the right teams, and recommending solutions that balance security requirements against operational constraints. You communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical audiences, written and verbal, and you drive discussions to decisions.
The team is comprised of security professionals with a cross section of national security, law enforcement, and private sector experience, providing a range of perspectives required for creative problem solving. We value diversity of thought, creativity, and a strong Bias for Action. We believe that there are no "perfect" security solutions and we develop and iterate using a continuous improvement process.
