Job summary

MSS Security is seeking two full-time Security Officers for our roving team at a university site on the Gold Coast. You will conduct foot patrols, secure buildings, escort people, and support students, staff and visitors.

Two full-time opportunities exist: a set-roster Night Shift Guard and a Reliever role requiring 24/7 availability with no fixed roster. Applicants must hold a Certificate II in Security Operations, a QLD Security licence, First Aid and CPR, and a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher).
• First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Conducting foot patrols, ensuring people are safe and buildings are secure.
• Escort individuals to and from various locations around the site as required.
• Ensuring property is locked and unlocked as required.
• Provide clear directions and assistance to students, staff, and visitors to ensure they can navigate the campus efficiently.
• Write reports in response to incidents or unusual activity, ensuring all information is documented.
• Communicate calmly, clearly, and effectively with staff, students, and visitors.

Requirements:

• Full Australian working rights.
• Certificate II in Security Operations (or higher).

• 24/7 Availability required, for the Reliever position

or N/S availability for following roster

• Week 1: Monday–Wednesday, 4:00pm–12:00am; Thursday–Friday, 8:00pm–8:00am.
• Week 2: Monday–Thursday, 12:00am–8:00am.
• Week 3: Monday–Tuesday, 4:00pm–12:00am; Friday–Saturday, 8:00am–8:00pm
