Job summary

CyberCX, part of Accenture, is seeking a hands-on Security Engineering professional to support backend platforms like Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel for our Security Operations teams in Australia. You will help keep core platforms healthy, patched and operating effectively, with opportunities to expand capabilities across monitoring tools.

You will work across diverse customer environments, collaborating with SOC analysts and engineers to ensure the right data is ingested and available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel or another SIEM platform.
• Exposure to security engineering, SOC operations or platform support.
• Understanding of log ingestion, forwarders, data onboarding or integrations.
• Good troubleshooting across applications, infrastructure or security platforms; Windows/Linux familiarity.
• Experience with patching, upgrades or change management in production systems.
• Scripting/automation interest; Python/PowerShell/APIs helpful.
• Experience with Tenable or LogicMonitor is advantageous.
• Willingness to learn and develop across multiple security technologies.
• Comfortable working across multiple customer environments with SOC/engineering teams.

Join our Managed Security Engineering team in a hands on Security Engineering role supporting the backend technologies used by our Security Operations teams. You will have the opportunity to work across a range of customer environments, helping keep core security platforms stable, available, patched and operating effectively.
Build deeper engineering capability across platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Tenable and LogicMonitor, with support from experienced senior engineers and technical leadership.
This role would suit someone with some SIEM, security operations or infrastructure experience who wants to move further into platform engineering, automation and backend security tooling.
You do not need to be an expert across every platform from day one, curiosity, strong troubleshooting fundamentals and a willingness to learn are important.

What you’ll be doing

• Perform security platform patching, upgrades and routine maintenance activities.

Skills & Experience

• Some hands‑on experience with Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel or another SIEM platform.
• Exposure to security engineering, SOC operations, platform support, systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
• Understanding of areas such as log ingestion, forwarders, collectors, data onboarding or integrations.
• Good troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure or security platforms.
  Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Exposure to patching, upgrades, change management or maintaining production systems.
• An interest in scripting and automation; experience with Python, PowerShell or APIs would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Experience with Tenable or LogicMonitor would be advantageous.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop across multiple security technologies.
• Comfortable working across multiple customer environments and collaborating with SOC, engineering and infrastructure teams
