Job summary

Talenza is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join a technical team delivering major cyber security transformation projects in Brisbane with hybrid work and occasional interstate travel. You will own and operate a wide range of security technologies, including SIEM, EDR, IAM, DLP, Firewalls, SASE, CASB, and more.

The role emphasizes hands-on deployment, incident response, and security policy hardening across a broad security stack.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Entra ID and Defender EDR.
• Broad security engineering background across SIEM, IAM, EDR, Firewalls, Vulnerability Scanners, DLP, etc.
• Security certifications such as AZ-500, SC-200/SC-300/MS-500 are a plus; system administration background is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and optimise new security solutions across SIEM, EDR, SOAR, DLP, IAM, Firewalls, SASE, CASB.
• Manage IAM using Entra ID including MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC.
• Respond to security incidents using SIEM and EDR and contribute to incident response processes.
• Strengthen security policies and configurations based on vulnerability scans and risk assessments.

Job description

A major Australian organisation is seeking an expereinced Cyber Security Engineer!

Join a technical team leading major cyber security transformational projects and uplift the company's security readiness.

This is an ideal role for someone wanting to own and work with with a wide range of Security technologies across SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Scanners, SASE, Firewalls, DLP and more.

Sydney or Brisbane - Hybrid with occasional travelling out of state (fully expensed)

Responsibilities:

• Work with the team on deploying and optimising new security solutions across SIEM, EDR, SOAR, DLP, IAM, Firewalls, SASE, CASB and more.
• Manage IAM using Entra ID - MFA, Conditional Access, RBAC
• Respond to security incidents using SIEM and EDR and assist the creation of security incident response processes
• Strengthen the security policies, control and configurations of all security tech following vulnerability scans and risk assessments

Desired experience:

• Strong experience with Entra ID and Defender EDR
• A broad security engineering background across a wide area of security is preferred e.g. SIEM, IAM, EDR, Firewalls, Vulnerability scanners, DLP etc
• A system administration background before moving into cyber is advantageous but not essential
• Security engineering project experience is preferred
• Strong communication skills - verbal and written
• A clean driving license
• Active Microsoft security certifications are a plus - AZ-500, SC-200, SC-300, MS-500 etc
• Must be willing to travel 1x per month
