Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited is seeking an experienced Security Architect to partner with internal and external teams. You will define security architectures for business initiatives, work with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containers, and drive secure evolution across the organisation.

Role requires 10+ years in technical design and 7+ years in security within large enterprises, plus expertise in SABSA, NIST 800-53, Open FAIR, and MITRE ATT&CK/D3FEND. Hybrid work options available.

Join our Banking and Financial Services Security and Fraud Prevention team to defend Macquarie’s retail banking and financial services business. Our team ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of Macquarie’s systems and information.

What role will you play?

In this role as a Security Architect, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to provide security advice and define security architectures for business initiatives and projects. Partnering with technical delivery teams, you will work with technologies including but not limited to cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), container orchestration and automation tools and help drive the secure evolution of the organisation. You will also review Macquarie’s security capabilities and provide recommendations to uplift our security capability landscape.

What you offer

• 10+ years experience in technical design and architecture roles and 7+ years security experience in large enterprises
• Current or previous experience in configuring, operating, designing and architecting security solutions for business and technology initiatives
• Familiarity and experience in formal security architecture aspects, including logical and physical security architecture/design
• Familiarity with SABSA, NIST 800-53, Open FAIR, MITRE ATT&CK/D3FEND, threat modelling and related methodologies or frameworks
• Demonstrable experience working with public cloud (AWS and/or GCP), containers, Kubernetes and related technologies
• Experience with security engineering, API security, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, automation, and application development valuable
• Familiarity working within an Agile environment
• Sound understanding of vendor technologies and roadmaps, and remains current with key IT industry themes and emerging trends.
