Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education invites applications for a Design Technologies teacher at St John's College - Nambour. The role runs 30 hours per week, full-time, fixed term, for the 2027 school year with start in Term 1. Salary range $86,601–$124,725 per annum plus 12.75% super.

The successful candidate will deliver Y7–12 Design Technologies and related subjects, contribute to a Catholic ethos, and collaborate with staff, students and families to support outcomes.

Summary

St John's College is seeking a qualified and passionate Design Technologies teacher (Yrs. 7-12) to join our team for the 2027 school year with the ability to teach, Food Specialisation (Yrs. 7-10), Food and Nutrition (Yrs. 11-12) and / or Hospitality Practices (Yrs. 10-12). The ability or experience teaching nationally accredited certificate courses would be desirable.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
  • A willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the College, safeguarding processes and contribute to the broader school community
  • The ability, and relevant qualifications, to teach Religious Education or a second subject area is highly desirable and strong support for the Catholic ethos of the school is essential
  • Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
  • Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
  • Ability to create engaging, inclusive and differentiated learning experiences
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
