Job summary

Southern Hills Christian College, part of the Swan Christian Education Association, seeks a Secondary Science Teacher and Digital Learning Support to lead Years 7–12 classrooms in a faith-based setting in Bedfordale, WA. You will support digital platforms, collaborate with staff, and contribute to the College's Christian ethos.

The role emphasises professional learning, technology integration, and ongoing development of digital practices across the College community.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church.
  • Qualified to meet Western Australian Department of Education teaching requirements.
  • Values the effective use of digital technologies to enhance teaching, learning and school operations.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator, skilled in supporting and developing staff, students and families.
  • Highly organised and professional, contributing positively to school culture and extracurricular activities.
  • Current TRBWA registration and a valid WWCC or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching for Years 7-12, adapting to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student success, uphold College policies and maintain professional growth and curriculum expertise.
  • Contribute actively to the Christian ethos and wider life of the College, including spiritual, academic, sporting and cultural activities.
  • Provide coaching and support for teachers in the effective use of digital learning platforms and Apple technologies.
  • Deliver professional learning and training that enhances the integration of digital technologies in teaching and learning.
  • Administer key educational applications, communicate updates and contribute to the ongoing development of digital learning practices across the College.

Secondary Science Teacher and Digital Learning Support

Location: Bedfordale Work Type: Permanent - Full Time

Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school inBedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan ChristianEducation Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, andthis belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in ourcurriculum and all that we do.

Essential
  • Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christand is an active member of a Christian Church, living inaccordance with the Association's Statement of Faith andEducational Objectives.
  • Qualified to meet Western Australian Department ofEducation teaching requirements.
  • Values the effective use of digital technologies to enhanceteaching, learning, and school operations.
  • A strong communicator and collaborator, skilled insupporting and developing staff, students and families.
  • Highly organised and professional, contributing positivelyto school culture, teamwork and extracurricularactivities.
  • Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia(TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check(WWCC) or willingness to apply.
Desirable
  • To have undertaken formal studies in the area of ChristianEducation, attend a Christian College or be familiar withrelevant books and articles on Christian Education.
  • To have experience in the advertised positions.
  • To have experience in using a digital learning managementsystem as a teaching and learning tool.
  • Experience with technology such as Learning ManagementSystems, particularly Canvas LMS, and Apple devices and iOSoperating systems, generative AI for educational purposes, orMicrosoft Excel.
