Job summary

Wyong Christian Community School invites applications from suitably aligned candidates to serve secondary students with Biblically-based education, characterised by excellence, integrity, respect, service and compassion. This is a maternity relief role at Wyong NSW.

The selected candidate will teach PDHPE across stages 4–6, embody Christian values, and support student wellbeing while collaborating with families and church partners in a ministry of Wyong Baptist Church.

Qualifications

• Qualified Secondary PDHPE teacher with a Christian education commitment.
• Evidence of exemplary teaching skills across Stage 4–Stage 6.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to the school Statement of Faith and local church involvement.
• Ability to engage and inspire students to reach their God-given potential.

Responsibilities

• Teach PDHPE to secondary students (Stage 4–Stage 6).
• Engage and inspire learners to achieve their potential.
• Support student wellbeing and manage classroom discipline.
• Contribute to Christian education and school ministry.

Applications are invited from qualified Secondary PDHPE Teacher with a strong commitment to Christian Education. The preferred candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students enabling them to achieve their God-given potential.

Selection Criteria

In their applications, candidates should:

• affirm a personal belief in the school’sStatement of Faith, as well as active involvement within their local church;
• display a high standard of competency, proficiency and innovation within the classroom, empowering students to creatively express themselves;
• Sound understanding of teaching curriculum from a biblical perspective
• provide evidence of exemplary teaching skills together with sound curriculum knowledge from Stage 4 to Stage 6;
• be an effective and reflective practitioner who displays strong interpersonal and communication skills;
• be committed to pedagogical advancement in their classroom;
• have strong skills supporting student wellbeing and managing student discipline;
• demonstrate strong administrative skills, with high flexibility and adaptability;
• a good understanding of Explicit Instruction would be an advantage.
