Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA is seeking a Software Development Engineer to design and implement the Leo Network SDN control plane. The role focuses on delivering a high-throughput, low-latency network spanning space and terrestrial components.

You will work on building scalable software for distributed nodes, integrating RF/optical planning, and ensuring operational excellence. A strong OO design background and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of design or architecture experience for large systems.
• 3+ years of software development engineer experience.
• 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered software applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• 3+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver a modern, scalable, high-throughput network architecture.
• Implement RF beam and optical link planning among SDN technologies.
• Develop highly-available software to drive control plane operation.
• Define and automate software development, testing, and maintenance processes.
• Provide operational excellence for control plane services and tooling.
