Job summary

Wangaratta High School seeks an experienced classroom teacher to inspire and support students across years 7–12 within a vibrant regional setting. You will deliver engaging teaching programs, contribute to curriculum planning and participate in the school’s wellbeing and community engagement initiatives.

Role requires registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching, with an emphasis on high-quality teaching, assessment, and collaboration with colleagues, students and families.

Qualifications

• Must have provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
• Postgraduate level initial teacher education program accreditation as required by Australian state regulations.
• If graduating after 2016, must demonstrate completion of the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE).
• Ability to plan, teach and assess across Year 7–12 with flexibility across curriculum areas.

Responsibilities

• Directly teach and manage groups and individual students to achieve learning outcomes.
• Contribute to development and evaluation of curriculum areas and school programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions and co-curricular activities.
