Job summary

HARKE Recruitment – Sydney’s Northern Beaches is seeking a Science Teacher for Years 7–12 to join our independent school partner. The role involves teaching general Science to Years 7–10 and at least one senior Science subject to Years 11–12, with a focus on HSC preparation and assessment.

Applicants should have secondary Science teaching experience, be eligible for NSW/NESA accreditation, and hold Australian work rights.

• Develop learning programs, assessments and practical investigations.
• Maintain safeguarding, wellbeing and safe laboratory practices.
• Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Communicate with students, families and colleagues on learning and assessment.
• Collaborate with science colleagues on curriculum planning and moderation.
• Contribute to the Christian ethos and wider life of the school.

About the Position

This full-time position involves teaching general Science across Years 7–10 and at least one senior Science subject across Years 11–12.

Experience teaching Earth and Environmental Science, Biology or Chemistry at HSC level is essential. Applicants do not need to teach all three subjects but must have demonstrated experience teaching at least one of these senior Science areas.

The school is seeking a confident and experienced educator with strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management and the ability to prepare senior students for HSC coursework and assessment.

Requirements

Teaching Experience: Applicants must have demonstrated experience teaching secondary Science.

Senior Science: Candidates must be able to teach at least one of Earth and Environmental Science, Biology or Chemistry across Years 11–12.

Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain accreditation with NESA.

Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential for this role.

Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.

Salary and Benefits

The school offers a salary between $90,000 and $135,000 plus super, depending on qualifications and recognised teaching experience.
