Job summary

Mountain Creek State High School on the Sunshine Coast is seeking an educational leader to head the Science Faculty. You will guide a large team to deliver high-quality curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment with a focus on student achievement across Years 7–12.

The role emphasizes instructional leadership, collaborative practice, and strong relationships with students, families, and the wider school community to foster a positive Science learning environment.

Qualifications

• Lead and inspire a large Science Faculty (40+ teaching staff plus 3 lab technicians) with a focus on excellence in teaching and learning.
• Drive high-quality curriculum, teaching, and assessment practices that improve student achievement and engagement.
• Lead the use of student achievement data to inform planning, monitor progress, and implement targeted improvement strategies.
• Build a culture of professional growth and accountability, supporting staff through coaching, feedback, and targeted professional learning.
• Oversee faculty operations, including resource allocation, laboratory management, WH&S, and compliance with Department of Education policies and procedures.
• Develop strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the wider school community to promote a positive and engaging Science learning environment.
