Job summary

Responsibilities

• Maintain school operations and facilities: manage deliveries, mail, security duties, waste management, sporting events, repairs and maintenance of furniture/equipment, and WH&S compliance.
• Maintain grounds and outdoor areas: mow, water, weed, plant, and upkeep ovals and sports facilities; manage grounds equipment and liaise with staff/contractors.

Quinalow Prep-10 State School is seeking a motivated Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our school community!

This position is being offered in a Permanent Part-Time capacity (0.50FTE), 38 hours per fortnight.

About Quinalow Prep-10 State School

Quinalow State School is located in the Rosalie Shire on the northern downs, within close proximity to the picturesque Bunya Mountains. The school services a small active rural community with a population of approximately 300. Quinalow was originally part of Rosalie Plains Station known as ‘the big scrub' where the mighty race horse Bernborough was foaled.

About The Role

As a Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will support the smooth and effective operation of the school by maintaining its grounds, facilities and overall environment to a high standard. The role involves completing routine day-to-day maintenance and services independently, following established procedures and instructions, with regular supervision provided for non-routine tasks.

Responsibilities Include

• Maintain school operations and facilities: Manage deliveries and collect mail and parcels, support a variety of security duties, assist with waste management, assist with sporting events, attend to repairs and maintenance relating to furniture and equipment and ensure Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
• Maintain grounds and outdoor areas: Care for ovals, gardens and sporting facilities through mowing, watering, weeding, planting and general upkeep, maintain grounds equipment, coordinate supplies and liaise with staff, contractors as required.
