Job summary

The NSW Health Far West Local Health District seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 to join the Primary Health Care Schools Based Nurse Program in Broken Hill. The role works with schools, families and services to identify health needs, coordinate early intervention, assessments and referrals for school-aged children and young people across designated schools.

Temporary full-time position until August 2027 with a competitive remuneration and access to the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce

Job description

This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata'd to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

What you'll be doing

The Primary Health Care Schools Based Nurse Program works closely with host schools, children, young adults, families, external organisations and social care providers to promote healthy behaviours, enhance health literacy, prevent and reduce the risk and impact of poor health and disease in a manner which is responsive and respectful to individuals, their families, school communities and other agencies. The Primary Health Care School Based Nurse Program is responsible for facilitating identification of health, wellbeing and social needs and the coordination of appropriate early intervention, assessments, and referral to services for school-aged children and young people attending designated primary and secondary schools within the FWLHD.
