Job summary

NSW Department of Education in NSW is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to join the Yanco Agricultural High School counselling team. The role focuses on counselling and psychological assessment to support student learning, wellbeing, and mental health needs across primary and high school age groups.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, receive supervision, and contribute to professional development.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (General or Provisional) is required.
• WWCC clearance (NSW) is required.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency is preferred for ongoing/permanent appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Administer cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and report results.
• Collaborate with staff, families and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
• Engage with Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
• Support schools with complex behavioural needs and contribute to student learning outcomes.
• Refer students/families to appropriate services and participate in incident response as needed.
