Job summary

St Monica's College, Cairns in Queensland is seeking a School Learning Officer to support learning activities across a range of contexts. The role requires depth in knowledge with routine procedures and may require tertiary qualification or equivalent experience to perform duties as outlined in the position description.

The position is a term-time, fixed-term (6-month) leave coverage contract, 30 hours per week, with an hourly gross rate of SOF Level 3 – $34.17 to $35.62 plus 12.75% employer

• Certificate IV in Education Support is advantageous.

St Monica's College, Cairns

The College is situated in the central business district of Cairns, one block from the Cairns Esplanade. St Monica's is the oldest school in the region, with rich heritage and Mercy traditions. As a Catholic Secondary Day and Boarding College for young women, St Monica's is a faith community where belief in the dignity of the human person underlies our educational philosophy, structures and processes. About the Role

The School Learning Officer in this position is required to demonstrate competency involving the application of knowledge with depth in some areas and a broad range of skills. There is a range of roles and tasks in a variety of contexts, where there is some complexity in the extent and choice of actions required.Tertiary qualifications at Certificate level or equivalent qualifications relevant to the position may be required or such knowledge, qualifications and experience that are deemed by the employer as necessary to successfully carry out the duties of the position.

Competencies are within routines, methods and procedures. Some discretion and judgement are involved in selection of equipment, work organisation, services, actions and achieving outcomes within time constraints.
