Brisbane Catholic Education Office is seeking a Part Time School Officer to support St Columban's College Caboolture with student health care, medication administration and general administrative tasks. This role involves coordinating care processes, maintaining health records, and providing first aid in a school setting.

The position requires Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, healthcare experience, and strong administrative and coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR qualification.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting - eg. nursing, first aid or student wellbeing.
  • Having provided a wide variety of administrative and operational support.
  • Coordinating tasks to meet deadlines and commitments, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Advising on administrative tasks and processes, driving process improvements.
  • Understanding of compliance within a school and delivering on relevant legislation, policy and procedures.
  • Led and supported administrative staff, ensuring their smooth onboarding and providing effective training for optimal performance.
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

Responsibilities

  • Providing first aid and basic healthcare support to students and staff as required
  • Providing day‑to‑day student health support, including the safe administration of prescribed medication and the provision of first aid in a school setting in accordance with medical authorisations, parent/carer instructions, and school procedures.
  • Maintaining, updating and monitoring student medical management plans and individual health plans, first aid and incident records ensuring information is accurate, current and confidential.
  • Safe storage, handling and recording medications in compliance with BCE policies, health regulations and school requirements.
  • Using school ICT systems and databases to process, maintain and retrieve confidential student health records, registers and correspondence.
  • Preparing and organise student medical information and medication requirements for camps, excursions and school events in line with risk management procedures.
